Aquamarine is a member of the Beryl species along with Emerald, Morganite, Bixbite and Heliodor, to name a few.

The primary source of Aquamarine is Brazil, but it is found all over the world including Australia, Africa, China, India and the United States.

It is common for Aquamarine to be heat treated to improve color.
