Oregon Sunstone Labradorite

Oregon Sunstone Labradorite is found in the high desert of South Central Oregon. Sunstone is formed and crystalized in volcanic lava flows and is a member of the feldspar group of minerals.

Unique to Sunstone from Oregon is the schiller phenomenon, which is caused by the microscopic copper platelets. To date, the only material known to contain copper platelets is from Oregon.

This material has a hardness of 6.5-7.2 and is completely unheated and untreated.

The following colors occur naturally in Oregon Sunstone: clear, champagne, pink, yellow, orange, bright red, green, blue green, blood red, red/green color shift and tricolor.

We are pleased to offer loose faceted gemstones and jewelry directly from the Ponderosa mine, exclusively from Gem'n I.
