Peridot is found virtually world wide, including but not limited to; China, Kenya, Mexico, Pakistan and Arizona.

Peridot is also known by the names Olivine and Chrysolite and is considered rare in sizes over 3 carats.

Peridot has been found in meteorites, including some cut stones in Russia that came from a meteorite that fell in 1749.
