Varieties of Quartz can be found in just about every corner of the world. It is a gemstone that we have in abundance.

It should be noted that most if not all Quartz is commonly heated.

Prasiolite is being sold on the market as "Green Amethyst". This name is quite misleading as Amethyst refers to purple Quartz.

Prasiolite is not found in nature but is created by irradiating quartz. The color of Prasiolite is not stable and commonly fades in sunlight.
